About the College

The Bishop Auckland College in County Durham was founded 55 years ago to provide higher education qualifications and training to the people of South and West Durham.

The college now has more than 1200 students enrolled in full time courses taking degrees, diplomas, NVQs and apprenticeships, as well as a number of adult learners improving their qualifications and skills on a part time basis.

The college provides vocational and apprenticeship courses including hospitality and catering, business administration, health & social care, construction, information technology, tourism, sport, music & performing arts, and a growing number of Higher Education courses in partnership with Sunderland University.

Kara has recently been made Estates and Facilities Manager for the college, but she was the Catering Manager and she found the Pelican's central billing payment service invaluable.

Why Kara loves Central Billing

Pelican's rep Joanne has introduced us to the central billing and I have to say that it's brilliant. I found it really easy. We get one statement a month and you can check it all off and any credits are chased for you. And, the biggest boost is the cash back. Last year for us it was about £2,000. It helps us over the summer purchasing when our budget is running low.

I just love the simplicity of the whole service. At a glance you can see what you've spent with each supplier. There's very little you have to do. Pelican process everything and then you get a cash back. So you're getting a reward for very little input.
