Background

Barry Warren-Watson is the owner of Russells restaurant in Great Baddow, Essex. Housed inside an ancient timber barn, Russells has been thoughtfully modernised, and since Barry's ownership in 1991 has been building a reputation for fine dining. Barry has been a member with Pelican for the past six years and, as someone with an eye on good service, he appreciates the quality work done by the Central Billing team.

Great service

"I've always found the team to be very good, very professional," says Barry. We hold some big accounts with them, ordering for our wine, and also for our dairy products, and we buy from Brakes. It all adds up to about £60,000 a year going through the team, and I never have any problems. "Having the payments go through central billing takes some of the paperwork away from me, which can only be a good thing. But I get the statements through in plenty of time so I can track how much we're spending.

"I really appreciate the savings we've made buying through Pelican, and we've purchased some large equipment and refrigeration units through them as well. "I've mostly dealt with Bronwen and she's very good. Within the team they're specialists at handling certain things. One time there was a mistake on the statement and that got taken off straight away as soon as I let her know. They don't mess around!" Bronwen and the team really look after us here and we're very happy with the service they provide.
